Pictured above are parts molded on Engel LIM machines for Medical equipment, For processing of liquid silicone rubber. Engel offers the right solution for every LSR (liquid silicone rubber) production requirement by means of a special LIM-injection molding machine program in modular design. The LIM (liquid injection molding)-machine program includes horizontal and vertical machines. In order to comply with the different requirements of special materials and processes there is the choice between screw and plunger injection units. The ENGEL LIM-machine series is characterized by a practical and economical combination of proven components for LSR processing. Especially with regard to the highly filled and highly reactive LSR types, which are gaining a larger market presence, it is possible to use the know-how resources that have accumulated over the last 20 years at Engel. The proven tiebarless clamping unit is used as standard for horizontal ENGEL LIM machines. With the tiebarless clamping unit in combination with the FLEXLINK compensation element behind the movable platen it is possible to achieve considerably lower platen deformation values because of the characteristics of this design. This is of great importance particularly when processing LSR. Besides the optimum access to the mould area for mould changes and mounting of automation modules, the fully hydraulic clamping system of the tiebarless machine provides maximum opening and clamping speeds to achieve economical cycle times. With regard to the injection unit, it is possible, depending on the application, to choose between a screw or a plunger injection unit.
